JAY — Dirigo erupted for six unanswered goals in the second half to down Spruce Mountain 6-1 in girls’ soccer.

Alexi Deering put Spruce Mountain on the board first with the only goal of the first half at the 10-minute mark.

Trailing 1-0 at the half, the Cougars started their onslaught when Natalie Bolduc scored the first of her three goals off a penalty kick. Paige Murphy put Dirigo ahead for good with a goal followed by Lindsey Crutchfield making it 3-1. Bolduc added her other two goals and Crutchfield capped off the scoring with just over a minute remaining.

Natasha Deroche made nine saves in net for Dirigo, while Emily Keene stopped six shots in the loss.

Leavitt 3, Oak Hill 2

TURNER — Junior forward Mariah Treadwell scored a goal and assisted on two others as Leavitt downed Oak Hill 3-2 in girls’ soccer action.

Oak Hill’s Marrissa Caskin opened the scoring by converting a dead-ball strike from 25 yards. Treadwell tied the score with an unassisted goal of her own. Senior Tori Zupancic put the Hornets (3-2) up 2-1 before the half with a goal.

Kelsea Marschall gave Leavitt a two-goal lead, scoring on Treadwell’s second assist of the game. Darby Beaulieu scored an unassisted tally for the Raiders (1-3-1), but they got no closer. Desiree Johns and Kelsey Collins split time in the net for Oak Hill turning away 10 shots. Kelly Pomerleau stopped all four shots she faced for the win.

Hall-Dale 6, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP — Kristina Buck scored a hat trick as Hall-Dale tore up the field with a 6-0 victory over Winthrop in girls’ soccer action Friday.

The Bulldogs (3-2) were leading 2-0 when Buck scored her first goal with 6:12 remaining in the first half. She than sandwiched a goal by Maura Stotler in the second frame with a pair of tallies.

Stotler collected three assists to go along with her goal.

Goalie Danielle Pease made 17 saves for the Ramblers (0-4), while Oliva Maynard only had to turn back one shot to earn the win in net for Hall-Dale.

Field hockey

Spruce Mountain 4, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD — Sophomore Demi Dube scored a goal in each half to help propel Spruce Mountain to a 4-0 blanking of Dirigo in MVC field hockey action.

Spruce Mountain’s Kasey Richard turned away all six shots Dirigo (1-5) threw at her for the shutout. Katie Gordon and Caroline Dannell each scored goals for the Phoenix (5-0). Cougars goalie Betsy Noyes stopped 13 shots in the loss.

Telstar 1, Hall-Dale 0

HALLOWELL — Senior midfielder Lindsay Merrill pushed across an unassisted goal with just over six minutes remaining in regulation to lift Telstar to a 1-0 victory over Hall-Dale.

After playing a scoreless first half, neither team would give in until Merrill’s heroics for the Rebels (2-3). Hali Barter stopped all six shots she faced for the shutout. Hannah Terry made eight saves in net in the loss for the Bulldogs (1-3-1).

Lisbon 5, Boothbay 0

BOOTHBAY — Arianna Kahler punched in a pair of goals and collected an assist as Lisbon landed on Boothbay with a 5-0 victory in a field hockey game Friday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (5-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half and polished off their shutout with two more goals in the second half.

Lisbon’s Hanna Jordan, Molly Nicholson and Sarah Craig each scored a goal. Nicholson and Jordan were also credited with an assist.

Lisbon goalies Devon Brewer and Brianna Moore combined to make nine saves, and the Greyhounds outshot Boothbay, 27-9.
