FARMINGTON — Senior midfielder Colton Hall slid down the left side of the field in overtime just before sinking a goal into the back of the net to lift Mt. Blue to a 3-2 victory over Waterville in KVAC boys’ soccer action Saturday.

The Panthers took a 2-1 first-half lead. But Hall tallied his second goal of the game in the second half to even the score and earn an overtime frame for the Cougars (3-1).

Tommy Samson posted both of the Panthers goals.

Goalie Zack Dishi made six saves for Waterville, while goalie Matt Crowley fended off five shots to earn the win in net for Mt. Blue.

Lewiston 9, Skowhegan 0

LEWISTON — Lewiston went on an offensive tear with Benji Abisalan Saban punching in four goals and teammate Ibrahim Achekh dropping in a pair and collecting two assists as Lewiston stomped on Skowhegan, 9-0, in a boys’ soccer game Saturday.

 The Blue Devils (4-1-1) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first half and polished off their lopsided victory with four more in the second half.

 Mohamed Ali, Abdibaari Hersi and Chris Johnson also punched in a goal.

 Lewiston outshot Skowhegan 35-2 and held the advantage in corners at 3-0.

 Dirigo 1, Wiscasset 0

WISCASSET — Hunter Ross broke away with the ball off a header from teammate Chad Snowman and scored the game-winning goal with 7:03 left in the first half as Dirigo held on a 1-0 victory over Wiscasset in a boys’ soccer game Saturday.

Snowman was credited with the assist on the play.

The teams played through a scoreless first half thanks to their goalies. Dirigo goalie Caleb Turner made eight saves while Wiscasset’s netminder Jason Weatherbee made 11. The game was tight, with the Cougars holding a slim advantage in shots, 12-8.

Lisbon 7, Monmouth 0

LISBON — Ryan Fairbanks led the offensive charge with three goals and a pair of assists and Justin Grant led a stellar defensive effort from the sweeper position as Lisbon blanked Monmouth 7-0 in MVC soccer action Saturday.

Morgan Reeves added a pair of goals and a helper and Brady Fenderson and Joe Osmond netted a goal apiece for the Greyhounds (4-1).

Shane Tanguay made six saves to record the shutout. Casey Smith stopped 17 for the Mustangs, who were under siege for much of the contest. Lisbon outshot Monmouth, 25-7.

Oxford Hills 1, Erskine 0

PARIS — Matt Beauchesne beat a pair of defenders with 28:52 remaining in regulation to power Oxford Hills past Erskine 1-0 in KVAC boys’ soccer action on Saturday.

Beauchesne’s goal, on a cross from the left side, earned for the Vikings (1-4) their first win of the season. Aaron Crockett finished with eight saves in the victory.

Erskine keeper Ryan Pulver stopped 13 shots in the loss for the Eagles.

G-NG 2, Poland 0

GRAY — Will Bartlett scored both Gray-New Gloucester goals as the Patriots defeated Poland 2-0 in boys’ soccer action Saturday.

Bartlett’s first half goal was unassisted, and Craig Moreau assisted on his second half tally.

Goalie Dillon Douglas made 12 saves for the Knights (1-5), while goalie Spencer Harriman turned away four to earn the win in net for the Patriots (4-1).

Girls’ soccer

St. Dom’s 2, Mountain Valley 1

AUBURN — Kelley McLellan crossed the ball from the left side to Marley Byrne and the Saints’ striker connected for her second goal of the game to break a one-goal deadlock and lift the Saints to a 2-1 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC soccer action Saturday.

Byrne and the Falcons’ Shannon Laubauskas traded goals early in the second half after a scoreless first frame. Byrne’s tally earned for the Saints (3-2) their third win of the season. Mary Caron stopped 10 shots to secure the victory.

Kaitlyn Armstrong made five saves for the Falcons (1-4-1).

Lewiston 5, Skowhegan 0

SKOWHEGAN — Maegan Mathon recorded a pair of goals as Lewiston notched its first victory of the season with a 5-0 shutout over Skowhegan in girls’ soccer action Saturday.

Kayla Hamel and Kenzi Sullivan contributed a goal and an assist each for the Blue Devils (1-4). Kristen Dibello rounded out the scoring with 18 seconds remaining in the contest.

Goalie Andrea Quirrion made 12 saves for the Indians (0-5), while Dixon prevented five shots to earn the win in net for Lewiston.

Bangor 6, Edward Little 0

AUBURN — Ally Vanidestine scored a pair of goals as Bangor walked off with a 6-0 victory over Edward Little in a girls’ soccer game Saturday.

The Rams (5-0) built a 3-0 lead in the first half and tacked on three more goals in the second half.

Ashley Robinson, Grace MacLean, Hanna Colpritt and Ali Boulier rounded out the scoring for Bangor. The Rams dominated on offense, outshooting the Red Eddies (0-2-1) at 25-3 and held the advantage in corners at 14-0.

Oxford Hills 2, Erskine Academy 1

SOUTH CHINA — Ellex Loper slipped in an unassisted, game-winning goal inside the 18-yard line in the second half as Oxford Hills shook off Erskine Academy in a girls’ soccer game Saturday.

In the first half, Crysta West scored an unassisted goal for the Vikings (3-1), but Erskine (2-1-2) bounced back when Meryl Bond scored on an Amy Phillips feed to tie the game.

Oxford Hills goalie Brianna Martin made 18 saves and the Vikings barely outshot Erskine, 17-16.

Field hockey

Oxford Hills 3, Brewer 3

BREWER — Kali Dixon staved off defeat with a goal at the two second mark in regulation as Oxford Hills battled Brewer to a 3-3 tie in field hockey action Saturday.

Devan Smith scored two first-half goals to put the Witches on top 2-1 at intermission.

Jesse Murch and Abby Angevine tallied the Viking’s remaining goals.

Goalies Abi Egan and Shannon Fillebrown provided keeper duties for Oxford Hills, while Casey White attended net for Brewer.

Nokomis 1, Leavitt 0

NEWPORT — Marissa Shaw booted a loose ball to send Nokomis to a 1-0 triumph over Leavitt in field hockey action Saturday.

Following a series of unproductive corners, Shaw picked up a loose ball, evaded the defense and got off a shot which ricocheted off several players and past goalie Taylor Eells with 9:35 left in the game.

Goalie Eells made 15 saves for the Hornets (3-2), while goalie Kendra Underhill repelled eight to earn the win in net for the Warriors (4-0-1).3

Winthrop 2, St. Dom’s 0

AUBURN — Lauren Kaiser scored the eventual game-winning goal on a corner as Winthrop clipped St. Dom’s 2-0 in MVC field hockey action Saturday.

The Ramblers (3-1-1) took a 2-0 halftime lead. Sara Blanchard assisted on Kaiser’s game-opening goal.

Goalie Jenna Fongemie had an outstanding day in goal for the Saints (0-5-1), preventing the score from getting out of hand with 18 saves. Goalie Dani Hutchinson made five saves to earn the win in net for Winthrop.

Lewiston 1, Brunswick 0

BRUNSWICK — Kelsey Dumond scored her unassisted, game-winning goal on a breakaway with 2:59 left in a field hockey game to give Lewiston (2-2-1) a narrow 1-0 victory over Brunswick on Saturday afternoon.

The teams played through a scoreless first half before Dumond settled the score with her goal late in the second half.

 The game remained tight for both teams, with Lewiston outshooting Brunswick, 11-10. Lewiston goalie Ravon Palmer earned the shutout with her eight saves.

Greely 5, Gray-New Gloucester 0

GRAY — Forward Julia Maine score two goals to lead Greely to a 5-0 shutout victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC field hockey action Saturday.

The Rangers took a 3-0 lead in the first half.

Goalie Olivia Rottari made eight saves for the Patriots (0-5), while goalie Emma Seymour only had to turn back one shot to notch the shutout for Greely.
