Square dance

PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club of South Paris announces that there is still time to try out square dancing with three lessons free. Sept. 21 will be the last opportunity for beginners until 2012. Ray Hilton of Saco, a square dance caller for many years, is the teacher. The lessons are on Wednesday evenings at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Workshops for those who have learned the mainstream calls are from 7:45 to 9 p.m. Classes and workshops are $4 per person when in attendance.

Last VHS sale

PARIS — Paris Public Library will close out its surplus VHS tape sales from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the old Paris Farmers’ Union store at the corner of Skilling Avenue and Main Street (Route 26).

Tapes are three for $1. More than 2,000 tapes are left. For more information, contact the library at 743-6994 or at [email protected].

Grange sale

WEST PARIS — West Paris Grange #298 will hold its annual Fall Sale & Flea Market on Oct. 1, at the West Paris Grange Hall, Church Street. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Baked goods and lunch will be available. Table rentals are available.

The Grange is seeking donations of clean, used but not abused items (no clothing, please) for sale at the Grange table.

Grange proceeds from this event help fund community service activities and assist with the upkeep of the Grange Hall.
