AUBURN — John J. Theberge, 77, of Lewiston, died Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin following a long illness.

He was born in Rumford Feb. 8, 1934, the son of the late Michael and Anna Bard Theberge, and had moved to Auburn with his family at the age of 3. He was employed for many years at Lewiston Enterprise Foundry as a pattern maker and also was a skilled carpenter, building several homes in the area.

John took great pride in his family. He especially enjoyed going for breakfast with his sons.

He is survived by his wife, the former Irma M. Sirois of Lewiston, whom he married Nov. 28, 1953; six sons, Michael Theberge and his companion, Terri Suminski, of Turner, Thomas Theberge and his companion, Cathy Berman, of Los Angeles, Calif., Stephen Theberge and his companion, Sharon Pelletier, of Lewiston, Philip Theberge and his wife, Joan, of Lewiston, Peter Theberge and his wife, Patricia, of Leeds, and Victor Theberge and his wife, Sonia, of Lewiston; two brothers, Alphonse Theberge and his wife, Doris, of Lewiston and Normand Theberge and his wife, Erika, of Sabattus; one sister, Gertrude Parkhurst and her husband, John, of York; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Harold Theberge; three sisters, Fernande Champagne, Jeanne Foley and Dorothy Langeviene; two grandsons, Jason and Matthew Theberge; and by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Theberge.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Lamp, Clover Manor and the Hospice House for the wonderful care John received through his final days.
