OXFORD — The Oxford area community came out to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake event. In partnership with local businesses and individual bowlers, Bowl For Kids’ Sake raised more than $33,000 to support their mentoring programs.

The proceeds from Bowl For Kids Sake will be used to support community and site-based programs in the Oxford County area.

Bowl For Kids Sake prizes were awarded to top team and individual bowlers who raised the most pledge money. Top prizes went to the following. Top Team, Dancing Trees; individual prizes, 1st place, Anonymous Bowler; 2nd place, John Gouin bowling with Hannaford Supermarkets; and 3rd place, Shelly Stevens bowling with Norway Savings Bank.

For every $100 raised in pledge money, individual bowlers were given a grand prize ticket to be entered into a drawing for a flat-screen HDTV. The grand prize winning ticket holder was Tom Qualley of Augusta, who bowled with Iberdola USA.
