Free supper
NORWAY — A free community supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the Second Congregational Church at the corner of Paris and Main streets. Menu will consist of hot dogs and beans, macaroni and cheese, green beans and dessert.
Concert fundraiser
OTISFIELD — The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will host a piano concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at 231 Rayville Road.
Pianist Jo Ellen Winslow from Van Buren will present an hour concert of sacred, gospel, classical and folk music. Winslow started playing the piano in church when she was 11 years old and, over the years, she has played for many denominations and feels this is her calling in doing the Lord’s work.
This past spring, Winslow presented a concert at Trinity in Stockholm for The Lords’ Pantry, the food pantry of the Swedish Colony. She also presented a similar concert for the 125th anniversary of New Sweden Covenant Church.
Following the concert, a community reception will be held in the fellowship room.
A love offering will be taken for Brian and Kathy Winslow to help with their family’s expenses during Brian’s illness. The Winslow’s live in Bolster Mills and have two teenagers living at home. They also have a son who lives in Auburn.

Bean supper
NORWAY — A public bean supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Norway Masonic Hall, 9 Temple St. Four types of homemade beans, hot dogs, cole slaw, bread, beverages and homemade pies, all you can eat. Adults $7, children under 12 $4.
Church open house
NORWAY — Christ Episcopal Church will hold an open house after the morning service at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, to celebrate the retirement of Rev. Anne G. Stanley. The church is at 35 Paris St.
Historical meeting
HEBRON — Hebron Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at the town office at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27. The program will consist of a review of the society’s past, a look at its current operation and ideas and goals for its future. Three members will talk on these stages and membership will be invited to contribute to discussion. The public is invited.
Business workshops
BETHEL — SCORE & AVCOG will present New Business Planning workshops beginning Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Telstar High School. The workshops will be presented on consecutive Wednesdays for four weeks.
Topics will include business plan preparation, marketing, cash flow and financing.
The $50 fee includes one person and business partner for all four workshops.

Paris Elementary School, 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3.
Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.
