LIVERMORE FALLS — Two people remained in a Lewiston hospital Tuesday after they were injured late Monday night when the car they were riding in left Moose Hill Road and ended up going airborne before landing facing the opposite direction, Sgt. Steve Allen said.
The car was traveling east, left the road, hit an embankment and went airborne for a short distance, he said.
The driver, David McKinney, 39, of Silver Springs, Fla., was partially ejected and taken by medical helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was listed in good condition on Tuesday, a CMMC spokeswoman said.
McKinney’s passenger, Sharon Kennedy, 46, of Livermore Falls was taken by ambulance to the Lewiston hospital. She was listed in fair condition, the spokeswoman said.
“We believe speed and alcohol to be factors,” Allen said.
