AUGUSTA — On Saturday, Sept. 24, the Maine State Museum will participate in the seventh annual nationwide Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine. The museum will be open free of charge to all visitors who download the Museum Day ticket from Smithsonian.com.

“I urge people who last visited as students, or when their children were young, to come discover our new exhibits. There is something here for everybody,” said Maine State Museum Director Joseph R. Phillips.

The Museum Day ticket is available at www.smithsonian.com/museumday. The ticket allows free admission for two people, with one ticket per household, per email address. For more information, visit www.smithsonian.com/museumday or www.mainestatemuseum.org.
