LEWISTON — Marcel A. Gagnon, 88, of Lewiston died at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Sept. 21, with family at his side.
Marcel was born in Westbrook, April 15, 1923, the son of Edward and Valerie (Minault) Gagnon. He married Murielle Desjardins Oct. 23, 1944.
He was a well-known local salesman for 47 plus years working throughout the state of Maine.
He was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Sacred Heart Men’s League, and an active volunteer and servant of Holy Cross Church. He enjoyed being a part of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. They could always count on Pepere’s candy and short walks.
He is survived by his children, Bob and Cathy, Dave and Rita, Sister Claire, Ann Marie and Therese Gagnon Ouellette; extended family Jo, Sue and Monique; Marcel’s grandchildren include, Jon and Lori, Eric and Jess, Pat, Marci, Scott and April, Brian, Kevin and Vicky and Craig and Ryan; Marcel also had 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell; two sisters, Lorraine Tardif and Cecile L’Heureaux; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Murielle; a son, Normand; and a sister, Annette.
