GARDINER — Muriel F. Audette, 80, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the home of her daughter, Dorene Denham, surrounded by her eight children.

She was born in Greenville, March 5, 1931, one of five children of Antonio and Eugenie Beaudoin Goulet. Muriel graduated from Greenville High School. At various times throughout her life, she was employed at the Charles A. Dean Nursing Home in Greenville. She dedicated her life to the raising of her eight children, especially after the death of her husband. She married Bertrand D. Audette in 1951. He passed away in 1973. Muriel was a special friend and was considered a mother by many others in addition to her own.

She moved to Gardiner in 1988. She was a member of St. Michael’s Parish at St. Joseph Church in Gardiner and where she continued to be active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Bertrand D. Audette and his wife, Claire, of Farmington; daughters, Dian M. Audette of Gardiner, Gisele A. Grant of Brunswick, Debbie L. Marceau of Gardiner, Dorene M. Denham and husband, Dwight, of Gardiner and Sherri L. Sullivan and her husband, Daniel, of Bangor; sons, Joseph E. Audette and wife, Rhonda, of South Berwick and Eric C. Audette and wife, Jen, of Auburn; her brother, Danny Goulet and wife, Gloria, of Greenville; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Bertrand D. Audette; her grandson, Adam Denham; her brother, Phil Goulet; and two sisters, Theresa Lavigne and Jacqueline Nadeau.
