KITTERY, Maine (AP) — A nuclear-powered submarine has arrive at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for system upgrades and maintenance work.

The Portsmouth Herald (http://bit.ly/pC6s2V ) reports that the USS Pasadena arrived Wednesday with a crew of 18 officers and 126 enlisted personnel.

Originally assigned to the Atlantic Fleet, the 20-year-old submarine later transferred to the Pacific Fleet and has conducted operations from the west coasts of North and South America to Australia.

Eliot, Maine, is serving as the crew’s host community.
