Oxford Hills 3, Skowhegan 0

SKOWHEGAN — Matt Beauchesne scored the first and eventual game-winning goal on a penalty kick as Oxford Hills breezed to a 3-0 victory over Skowhegan in KVAC boys’ soccer action Thursday.

The Vikings (3-4) controlled play and possession throughout the game. Zach Kimball and Nick Record rounded out the scoring, while Brian Lynch provided a pair of assists for Oxford Hills.

Goalie Chris Palmer made an impressive 24 saves for the Indians (0-7), while goalie Aaron Crockett prevented one to earn the win in net for Oxford Hills.

Gray-NG 0, North Yarmouth 0

YARMOUTH — Goalies Spencer Harriman for Gray-New Gloucester and Ryan Salevno for North Yarmouth Academy battled it out in a double overtime matchup that ended in a 0-0 tie in boys’ soccer action Thursday.

The Patriots (4-2-1) received six saves from Harriman, while the Panthers (3-3-1) obtained eight saves from Salevno.

Spruce Mtn. 2, Telstar 1

JAY — Senior striker Jake Freeman scored the game-clinching goal as Spruce Mountain notched a 2-1 victory over Telstar in MVC boys’ soccer action Thursday.

The Rebels (0-5) scored first behind a goal from Tyler Brown. But, Isaac Couture tied the game at 1-1 for the Pheonix (3-2-1). And, Freeman one-timed a pass from Couture in the 39th minute for the final scoring event of the game.

Goalie Rick James made five saves for Telstar, while Ethan Hutchins refused one to earn the win in net for Spruce Mountain.
