LEWISTON — Jordan Handy, a 2011 graduate of Lewiston High School, has been accepted to The Culinary Institute of America’s Culinary Arts bachelor’s degree program. The Culinary Institute of America is the world’s premier culinary college.
At The CIA’s Hyde Park, N.Y. campus, Handy will learn from some of the world’s finest chefs in the 4-year, year-round program, which will include externships at some of the world’s most renowned restaurants. Handy will be a bachelor’s degree candidate in culinary arts.
At the Lewiston Regional Technical Center, Handy studied in the culinary arts program under chef Dan Caron and achieved an A average in all of the culinary courses. Last year Handy was selected to attend the CIA’s “Career Discovery Program.” While at LHS, Handy was a member of the National Technical Honor Society and the National Honor Society. He also played basketball for LHS and played percussion in the band.
He is the son of Sharon Deveau and Jim Handy of Lewiston.
