FARMINGDALE — Nancy “MiMi” Florence Patterson, 72, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 22, after a courageous battle with Leukemia.
She was born in Augusta, Sept. 24, 1938, a daughter of William and Dora Cole. Nancy graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1956, and went to work for the state as a keypunch operator, retiring in 1982. She married David Patterson on June 1, 1968. They celebrated their 43rd anniversary this June.
MiMi had a love for life, especially her family and nature. Nancy dedicated her life to her family. She was an incredible grandmother, teaching her grandchildren how to down-hill ski, four-wheel and horseback ride, along with taking trips to the fairs and up river. She also enjoyed camping in Eustis and Georgia, gardening and caring for her many animals. She was a dearly loved member of First Baptist Church of Hallowell, where many referred to her as “their grandmother MiMi.”
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, David Patterson of Farmingdale; daughter, Kim Longfellow and her husband, Alden, of Farmingdale; stepchildren, David Patterson Jr. and Kathy Patterson; grandchildren, Michael, Kristy, Dan, Jessica, Jacob, John and Joe; great-grandchildren Noah, Serenity, Baby Dan, Skylor and Riley; and a host of loving family and friends.
The family would like to thank the great fourth floor oncology staff of St. Mary’s in Lewiston, especially Dr. Pandey for their over and above care for Nancy these past years.
