LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Roger Pelletier was celebrated by the Rev. Nathan March Friday at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. At the entrance of church the Lewiston Fire Department Honor Detail stood at attention as their fellow retired firefighter was carried into church followed by his family and friends. Roger’s children spread the white burial pall representing their Father’s Baptism into new a spiritual life with God. The reading was proclaimed by Roger’s daughter-in-law, Jennifer Pelletier. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Roger’s grandchildren, Amy and Jillian Pelletier and Grace and Joseph Banks. Words of remembrance were then shared by Roger’s grandson, Aaron Pelletier. Following the Mass, the funeral procession passed Central Fire Station, where the Lewiston Fire Department personnel and firefighters honored Roger with one last final salute. Upon arrival at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Father March recited committal prayers followed by Roger’s daughter-in-law, Karen Pelletier, reciting a poem honoring what Roger meant to the Pelletier family. Bagpipers, Sean Kaherl and his father representing the Lisbon Fire Department both played, “Amazing Grace” to conclude the services. Pallbearers were Timothy, Thomas, James, Matthew and Aaron Pelletier as well as Marc Morin. Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
