I recently read an article by Sally Holland from CNN on Sept. 1. The article was about the National Museum of American History, which is preserving objects from 9/11 in order to help remember that day.
Museum Curator Peter Liebhold spoke of the day that he spent rummaging through debris from Flight 93. The museum has opened the artifacts to the public.
Preserving those artifacts is something that I think is incredible. It shows that people care about what happened on 9/11, and also commemorates that terrible day. Opening the artifacts to the public says that day is something to preserve; that it is important to the country’s history.
Preserving the artifacts touches the people who were affected by 9/11 more than other people. It affects the people who lost loved ones and the people who were injured in the towers and Flight 93.
I hope people will attend the museum and look at the artifacts from Flight 93. They are an important part of our country’s history and we shouldn’t take any of it for granted.
I thank Curator Liebhold and all the people who made it possible to have the artifacts preserved.
