AUBURN — Laurette B. Gauthier, 87, passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, at Hospice House.

She was born on Aug. 22, 1924, in Lewiston, the daughter of Olier and Imelda Bachand. She married Roland Gauthier in May 1942. She was educated in Lewiston schools and worked her early years at Bates Mill and later in the housecleaning business.

A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she was a devout and very prayerful Catholic. She particularly loved praying the rosary. Her patron saint was St. Jude.

A beautiful person with a loving heart, she had a wide circle of friends. She loved camping, playing cards, eating out with her sisters and friends and doing crafts. She also had a passion for watching the Red Sox and loved talking baseball with people.

A loving mother, she took great pride in her family and was always there whenever anyone needed her. She had so much warmth and love for them all. Family gatherings were always a very joyous occasion for her.

She will be very sadly missed by her two daughters, Lina Haskell and her husband, Mark and Jane Bernier and her husband, Richard; daughter-in-law, Rose Gauthier; two sisters, Fernande Parise and Jeannette Gendreau; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roland; son, Gerard Gauthier; parents; and three brothers.

Many thanks to Dr. Duval, Wayne, Shirley, Karen and staff for the great care they provided throughout the years. Sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Clover Manor for taking good care of her and to Hospice House for the comfort and care they provided.
