PORTLAND — Patricia Lee (Varney) Chase, 72, of Windham, died on Sept. 23 at Mercy Hospital.
She was born in Lewiston on April 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Louis B. and Pearl (Moore) Varney. Patricia was a 1957 graduate of Windham High School.
In early 1963 she moved to Florida, residing in Holly Hill for nearly 30 years, where she became employed in the food service industry, working for Howard Johnson, Ormond Beach Country Club and the Halifax River Yacht Club. Moving back to Maine, she started her career as a Realtor and most recently working at 207Realty.com. During the winter months, she was employed at the L.L. Bean call center in Freeport.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat was a wonderful photographer, leaving many memories of family and travels for them to enjoy. An avid NASCAR fan, she enjoyed trips with friends, traveling across the country, sewing, crafting and ceramics. She loved working on the computer, designing her own websites and creating family trees.
Pat was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Family members include her son, Blaine T. Chase and his wife, Cynthia of Lyman; a daughter, Deborah L. LaVallee and her husband, Todd of Windham; three grandchildren, Kimberly Saucier and husband, Matt of Bangor, Kevin MacDonald of Haverhill, Mass. and Joel LaVallee and his wife, Jessica of Windham; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Caleb, Noah and Franklin; a niece, Michelle Zinko; a sister, Pam Hodgdon; and a nephew, Christopher Hodgdon.
She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Varney.
