TURNER — Local group The Way Down Willys will give the second concert in the Fall Music Festival series at North Turner Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The four-member Way Down Willys band plays a high-energy mix of country, rhythm and blues, rockabilly, blues and rock. The musicians from Generation Y through baby boomers share a love of playing music from the fifties to the present.

Making up the fledgling band are George Chiasson, guitar, harmonica and vocals; Bob Allen, drums and percussion; Kyle Broad, lead and slide guitar and vocals; and Eric Dutil, lead vocals.

Chiasson has performed for many years with several other Maine bands. Likewise, Allen has performed with a number of bands, beginning his music career as a teenager playing rhythm and blues and early rock in dance halls and juke joints in rural California.

Broad has been playing and singing in bands since age 9. Dutil also started out at an early age in his church band and music program, and has played more recently with other bands in Maine.

The concert, designed to provide family entertainment while raising funds for the 225-year-old church, will begin at 7 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the door. Refreshments will be served. The first performance in the Fall Music Festival series, held in September, featured singer Bryce Libby and his sisters, Rhonda Libby Chase and Connie Libby. For more information, call 225-3370.
