Captive Elements Art House, which has moved from Landry Street to 223 Lisbon St., has joined the many participants of Art Walk Lewiston Auburn, a monthly celebration of art and culture beginning in May and ending for the season on Friday, Sept. 30. Among the featured artists at Captive Elements, which will be open from 5 to 10 p.m., are Robert J. Russell, Ray Fannin Jr., Jason Landry, Delian Valeriani, Jeanelle Demers, Grayling Cunningham, Hunter Matthews, Kerry Landry, The Rick and Kate Cargile, whose artwork, above, is titled “Pandora.” Besides artists with exhibits at Captive Elements and L/A Arts’ Gallery 5, some 24 others will show their work at 18 venues, including vacant buildings and law and business offices along two city blocks between J Dostie jewelers and Captive Elements. Also as part of the festivities, up-and-coming artist Zach Jones, who plays a mix of modern rock, pop and soul, will perform at 6 p.m. in Dufresne Plaza, adjacent to 84 Lisbon St. If it rains, the free concert will be moved to Downstage at L/A Arts, 221 Lisbon St. In addition, The Vault, a wine shop owned by Susan Hall, who has spent years touring vineyards and importing, distributing and marketing wines, will hold its grand opening. A back wall of the shop is dominated by the door of a floor-to-ceiling vault, a remnant of 84 Lisbon St.’s one-time occupant, Casco Bank. This vault is where Hall plans to showcase some of her best deals as wines of the month.
