MONMOUTH — Richard H. “Dick” Kemp, 70, a resident of Bog Road, Monmouth, died in an accident while on the job in Kennebunkport on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

He was born in Lewiston Sept. 13, 1941, the son of Rosie Ellen Wing and Henry Washington Kemp. He graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1960.

On Sept. 22, 1962, he married Charlotte Marston of Farmingdale. He worked in many places over the years; Health Tex, Albany Felt, Progressive Distributors, and he also owned his own garage, Dick’s Amoco, on Main Street in Monmouth, and at one time he worked at International Paper, Superior Concrete, and at the present time he was working for Stevens Electric in Monmouth.

He had a great love for antique tractors and cars. He spent many hours in search of parts at swap meets in Amherst, N.H. He enjoyed working at Monmouth Fair. One of his favorite things to do in the winter was work on a project in the garage with his sons and grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of Monmouth; his three sons, Jeff and his companion, Andrea Ward, and their two children, Zack and Brandon Kemp; Rick and his companion, Debbie Boilard, and their two children, Sarah Boilard and Chad Kemp; and Scott and his wife, Roberta, and their three children, Krystin, Kylie and Max Kemp; his daughter, Bonnie Brown and her husband, Lewis, and their three children, Brian Goucher and his wife, Leticia, Shaun Goucher and his fiancee, Natasha Kao, and Kyle Brown, all of Monmouth; his stepson, Kenneth Nason and his son, Matthew; a great-grandson, Morgan; and two sisters, Alberta Burnham and her husband, Gus, of Monmouth and Mary Holt and her husband, Bert, of North Monmouth.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Charles Kemp; a half brother, Edmund Campbell; and a half sister, Alice Bowler.
