LEWISTON — Marcelle F. Comeau left us on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

She was born Marcelle Francoise Labrosse, March 9, 1924, in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Paul and Yvette (Contois) Labrosse of Montreal. She attended Montreal schools, business college and worked in Montreal until she married the love of her life, Julien Z. Comeau of Lewiston on Sept. 15, 1953.

She was employed at Campbell’s Draperies in Lewiston until she started her family and was a house wife and cared for her husband and together they raised their two children.

She was later employed at Bates College for 16 years in the custodial department until her retirement. She worked part time for St. Peter and Paul rectory in which she took the place of her husband after his passing. She enjoyed her retirement and traveled to France, and visited her family in Canada.

She was a loving wife and mom and welcomed all who came into her home and always wanted everyone to feel comfortable. Her smile was a delight and she had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make you laugh. She loved to sew and knitted all of our blankets. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards with her friends and was an amazing cook and loved to entertain.

She is survived by her daughter, Louise Comeau, and her son, Robert Comeau of Lewiston-Auburn; and her sister-in-law, Marie Labrosse of Boucherville, Canada.

Not to be forgotten are her dear friends who have always been by her side, Juliette Bernard of Montreal, Therese Jalbert and Jean-Robert Maheu of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her husband, Julien Z. Comeau; and her brother, Guy Labrosse of Boucherville.

Although her spirit will never leave us, she will always be remembered as a wonderful loving wife, mother and friend who will live on in our hearts, not forgetting anyone that she has cared for or that have cared for her.
