LEWISTON — Aurore F. Lacasse, 89, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, and formerly of the JaLynn Mobile Home Park on Turner Street, Auburn, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, at d’Youville Pavilion with family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 4, 1921, one of six children born to Charles and Marilda (Morin) Roy. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On May 27, 1944, she married Leo Lacasse, who predeceased her Feb. 18, 2009. Following their marriage, Mrs. Lacasse first worked for a time at the Bates Mill and then later as a homemaker as she and her husband raised their family on Lucille Avenue in Lewiston.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Ladies Guild and was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening, dancing, and crocheting. But most of all, she took great pride in her family and great pleasure in nurturing them, caring for them, and making sure all their needs were always met. She was a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother, grandmother and best friend, who will be dearly missed.

She leaves three daughters, Jeanne Walsh and husband, William, of Stratford, Conn., Anita Barth of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Doris Robinson of Auburn; three grandchildren, William Walsh, Brian Croteau and Monica Barth; three great-grandchildren, Brendan Croteau, Emma Walsh and Cooper Stevenson; a sister, Alice Houle of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Gerard Gerard Lacasse; a grandson, Scott Croteau; three sisters; and one brother.
