FARMINGTON — Lorna Rose (Bryant) Aft passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Pinewood Terrace in Farmington, with her loving husband by her side.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1931. in Albany, Ore., the daughter of Claude and Lila (Chandler) Bryant. She attended college at Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore., and married Harvey Aft in September 1953. Together they raised four children,

moving the family to Maine in 1969. She went to work for the U.S. Census Bureau, becoming a very familiar face to many through her work, as well as through her involvement at the Mt. Blue Assembly of God Church (Living Waters). Probably best known for her sublime voice, she was an accomplished soloist. Lorna loved her pets, sometimes making Harvey nervous as to who came first. She was a very loving and giving person.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years; daughters, Wendy Aft of Tujunga, Calif., and Theresse Wilson and husband, James, residing in Farmington; sons, Robert Aft of Killingworth, Conn., and Adam Aft and his wife, Elizabeth, of Palm Bay, Fla.; sisters, Ardis Eklund of Portland, Ore., and Gloria Kellas and husband, Alan, of Pendleton, Ore.; grandchildren, Erin and Christian Wilson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
