PORTLAND — “The Rat Pack is Back!” — a tribute to show biz legends Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Dean Martin — will be presented at the State Theatre on Friday, Oct. 21.
The performance, from 8 to 11 p.m., will take audiences back to the 1960s when the four stars known as the Rat Pack captured the glitz and allure of classic Vegas with their nonstop party attitude.
Taking the stage will be singers/actors Mickey Joseph as Joey Bishop, Drew Anthony as Dean Martin, Kenny Jones as Sammy Davis Jr. and Brian Duprey as Frank Sinatra.
The show is a recreation of one of the Rat Pack’s raucous, antic-filled performances, featuring Bishop’s comedy and performances of such standards as Sinatra’s “You Make Me Feel So Young,” Martin’s “That’s Amore” and Davis’ “Mr. Bojangles.”
Backing the singers will be a 12-piece live orchestra performing period orchestrations.
The concert, produced by Dick Feeney of “Viva Las Vegas,” “Showgirls” and “The Great Gleason,” is a benefit concert for CASA.
Casa is a nonprofit that provides support services for children and adults with a broad variety of developmental disabilities who live in the Portland area. The purpose of this event is to help raise funds for a new Casa nursing home for adults and children in Scarborough.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. at the theater at 609 Congress St. For tickets, $45/$35 for reserved seating, call 800-745-3000, log on to www.statetheatreportland.com or visit the Cumberland County Civic Center box office.
