FARMINGTON — Four people escaped serious injury in a three-vehicle crash on Knowlton Corner Road on Monday afternoon.
Aaron Gagnon, 17, of Wilton driving a 1997 Jeep was traveling west toward Route 2 after leaving Mt. Blue High School, Farmington Officer Ryan Rosie said. Gagnon lost control of his vehicle on a curve and hit the rear of a 2004 Jeep driven by Marsha Thomas, 40, of Farmington, who was traveling east on the Knowlton Corner Road, he said.
The impact sent her vehicle into the opposite lane where it struck a Honda Civic driven by Shane Oneil, 17, of Farmington, who was also heading toward Route 2. Oneil and his passenger, Brian Durrell, 17, of New Sharon were heading for football practice in Wilton, Rosie said.
Gagnon’s Jeep went about 150 yards before going off the road, Rosie said.
“It could have been much worse than it was,” he said.
Thomas received a facial laceration but no one needed to be transported to the hospital, he said. All were wearing seat belts.
Gagnon was able to drive his vehicle from the scene. The other two vehicles were towed by local wrecker services, he said.
NorthStar Ambulance and Farmington Fire and Rescue members assisted at the scene.
