Bridge results
OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Sept. 30 at the Rec. building. A 7 and 1/2 table club championship was held, won by Rosemarie Goodwin (Lewiston) and Luke Merry (New Gloucester).
Finishing first in flight A were Rosemarie Goodwin and Luke Merry, second were Pat and Mike Quinn (Otisfield), third were Lucille Theriault (Lewiston) and Richard Balian (Waterford).
Finishing tied for first and second in flight B were Marta Clements (Woodstock) and Nancy Farmer (Norway) with Dick Allen (New Gloucester) and Pete Cummings (South Paris), third in B were Marlee Turner (Casco) and Karen MacNeill (Casco) who also were first in flight C, second in C were Bob Kirchherr (South Paris) and Milt McKeen (Bridgton).

Jesse Adams benefits
STONEHAM — Two benefits will be held for Jesse Adams. A benefit dinner will take place Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Stoneham Church. Seatings will be at 4:30, 5:30 and possibly 6:30 p.m. It will be an Italian dinner with lasagna, salad, bread and dessert. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12, and free for 5 and under.
To assist with planning seating, call Midge at 928-2806 (at any hour of the day) and leave a message stating the time of your seating, 4:30, 5:30 or if necessary 6:30, and the number of individuals attending.
A benefit dance will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at a location to be determined. Music guests will include the Eaton Road Project with Al Landry.
To assist with the dinner, call 928-2155 (town office) or 928-2806 (home). Food donations should be brought to the town office no later than Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.
Von Trapp concert
BETHEL — Elisabeth Von Trapp will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the United Methodist Church, 79 Main St.
Elisabeth is the granddaughter of Maria and Baron Von Trapp, whose story inspired “The Sound of Music.” Singing professionally since childhood, Elisabeth has enthralled audiences from European cathedrals to Washington D. C.’s Kennedy Center and hundreds of performance halls and churches across the United States.
A love offering will be taken. CDs will be on sale after the concert. All are welcome.

Finnish buffet
PARIS — A buffet supper featuring Finnish, American and other ethnic foods will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under.
The supper is sponsored by the Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine.
