AUGUSTA — James “Jimbo” Giasson, 50, died Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Veterans’ Hospital in Togus after a long illness.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1960, in Rumford, son of Arthur Giasson Sr. and Emma (St. Pierre) Giasson. He was educated in Rumford schools and served in the U.S. Army after high school.
He was employed as a Postal Worker in Rumford for many years until the time of his disability. A resident of Rumford all his life, he was a member of St. Athanasius-St. John Parish.
Survivors include a son, Jonathan of Rumford; brothers, Arthur and wife, Jane, of Rumford, Thomas and wife, Zandria, of Canaan, Harvey of Clinton and Timothy of Mexico; a sister, Linda and husband, David Breau, of Augusta; eight nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
