RUMFORD — Laura Mary Brown, 86, of Rumford, formerly of Peru, died Monday, Oct. 10, at the Rumford Community Home, where she had been a resident for several years.
She was born March 16, 1925, in Wilton, a daughter of George and Beatrice (Hall) Hardy. She graduated from Wilton schools.
On Dec. 16, 1945, she married Roger Brown. They made their home in Peru, where she worked as homemaker to her husband and children.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed time with family, going for rides with her husband on his Harley, flower gardening, music, dancing, playing Beano and watching the wildlife from her house.
She is survived by her children, Harland Brown of Section, Ala., Robert Brown and his wife, Brenda, of West Peru, David Brown of Rumford, Joyce Bolduc of Phillips and Lois Brown and her companion, Greg Cote, of Rumford; grandchildren, Lisa, Eric, Daniel and Brandon; and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband on April 25, 2001; and sisters, Phyllis Getchell and Marjorie Perry.
