Chip Keene of Mr. Chip’s Signs in Poland paints the wall of the former Andy’s Baked Beans on Broad Street in Auburn on Wednesday morning. Retired Auburn firefighter Victor Mathieu and current firefighter John Roy bought the property and replaced the entire inside to match the theme of honoring firefighters, police officers and all other public servants. The Firehouse Grill will feature steak, ribs, seafood and 10 beers on tap. “We will still have darts and with the purchase of the building came the name and the recipe for the beans.” Roy said. ” We’ve had a bunch of people stop in asking if we would have the beans. We will still have the bean special on Saturdays.” Nov. 4 is the scheduled opening.
