LEWISTON — American Legion Post 22 will hold its monthly membership meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St.
There will be a 50/50 raffle and drawing for prizes. All members attending should wear their legion caps and have paid up membership cards with them.
A special program will be presented memorializing the anniversaries of the terrorist attacks on the U.S.S. Marine Barracks on Oct. 23, 1983, in Beirut, Lebanon, where 241 U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy personnel lost their lives and also the boat bombing of the U.S.S. Cole on Oct. 12, 2000, where 17 crew members lost their lives.
Chaplain Donald T. Dube will offer prayers and “Taps” will be played by Bert Mathieu.
