AUBURN — Cecil R. Cash, 61, of 23 Buckhill Apartments in South Paris, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Hospice House in Auburn, after battling cancer for an extended period of time.

He was born in Casco, to Bertrand and Evalynn Cash, on Nov. 2, 1949.

Cecil had many trades in his lifetime, including working on the railroad, stock-car racing and health-care trades.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling and racing, as well as shaking a leg a time or two.

He was a social man who was loved by many and had many people he called friends.

Cecil is survived by his foster parents, Malcom and Mary Lyons of Windham; his children, Julie and Owen Austin of Bath, Ernie Cash of Auburn, Charlene May of Lisbon, Kelly and Russell Adams and Bruce and Melissa Record; sisters, Bertha Morrin and Ruth Hupe; brothers, Donald Cash, David Cash and Edward Cash; grandchildren, Amanda Wardach, Cassandra Begin “Little Spook,” Savanna Austin, Brian May, Rene Smiley, Elaina Cash, Nathan King “the boss,” Carolynn Campbell, Hayden Adams, Megan Record, Sarah Martin, Rosie Hodgkins and Amanda Wood; as well as a great-granddaughter, Madison Begin.

He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Thomas, in 1998; one brother, Robert Cash, in 2006; and his biological parents, Bertrand Ethan Cash and Evalynn Maude Knight.
