RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Joan Petrie Cyr, of Rumford, was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius – St. John Church with Fr. Phil Tracy as the Celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist.

Musical selections were “Be not Afraid,” “Because the Lord Is My Shepherd,” “Ave Maria” and “Fly Like a Bird.” Readings were given by Gloria Provencher and Priscilla Prevost. Wayne Petrie presented gifts to the altar. Granddaughter Megan Jasud read the poem, “Listen to Your Guardian Angel,” and an unnamed poem which she wrote. Granddaughter Amber Cyr read the poem, “Gone but not Forgotten.”

Committal services were conducted by Fr. Phil Tracy. Interment was in St. John Cemetery, Rumford. A reception followed at the Parish Hall of the church. Arrangements were under the direction of the Meader and Son Funeral Home, Rumford.
