SCARBOROUGH — The wedding of Rebecca Chandler and James Smith was held on Aug. 21 at Broadturn Farm in Scarborough. The Rev. Ginger Rickeman officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Smith is the daughter of Jim and Jane Chandler of Woodstock. Mr. Smith is the son of Trevor and Diane Smith of Maldon, Essex, United Kingdom.

Wedding attendants for the bride were Jay Fournier, Melody Balcet and Mindy Clements, friends of the bride. Wedding attendants for the bridegroom were Mike Smith, brother of the bridegroom, and Jeffrey Chandler, brother of the bride.

The flowers were grown at the Broadturn Organic Farm. The couple celebrated with a pig roast, followed by a barn dance at Broadturn Farm. The couple went on a three-month road trip around the United States. They will reside in the United Kingdom.

The bride is employed for the International Rescue Committee in many countries around the world, most recently based in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.

The bridegroom is employed at Oxfam International, spending several years in Darfur, Sudan. Most recently he worked in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.
