DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the Sept. 7 inquiry regarding doll repair: I am the owner of a Special Place for Dolls in Wales. I specialize in antique doll repair but also do new dolls.

In most cases, I can rebuild or make a missing portion of bisque, china or composition. I have had extensive training in doll repair. I restring, repair or replace wigs and eyes, whatever your special doll needs.

I also make dolls for special occasions for customers. I do buy and sell dolls and other related items.

I do this from home, so I appreciate calls before arrivals. I don’t have set hours, so timing is pretty flexible. Thank you. — Linda T., Wales, 375-7255

ANSWER: Sun Spots is very glad you wrote. She has had several requests along this line and has had nowhere to send readers. Now she can send them to you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: More than 10 years ago I took up punch embroidery with very fine yarns. I took classes from Sheila’s Punch Embroidery Shop on Lisbon Road in Lisbon. I did the craft for a few years, then family life got too busy and I packed it away.

I would like to start again, but the shop is no longer there and the phone number (353-9467) is not in use. I would like to contact Sheila to take a refresher course. — rchase22@myfairpoint.net, 353-9625

ANSWER: Sun Spots did not find anything online about Sheila. Maybe readers will be able to help. Even if Sheila is no longer offering classes, there might be another punch embroidery teacher in the region.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have been trying to find a certain book with no luck. With all the bookstores closing and my not having a computer, I’m at a loss.

It’s a book from Dr. Phil, his latest book on anxiety. I tried the phone number they advertise on his show, but all they sell are transcripts.

I would be so appreciative if you could tell me where I could find this book. I tried Walmart but no luck. Maybe you could find an address for me?

I always read your column. It’s fantastic. Thank you in advance for your time concerning this very important request. — No Name, Auburn

ANSWER: Sun Spots started at the website www.drphilstore.com. Searching there and at Amazon.com, using Google, etc., she did not find any books by Dr. Phil McGraw on anxiety.

According to various websites, his most recent book is “Real Life: Preparing for the 7 Most Challenging Days of Your Life.”

Are you sure you’re looking for a book? If you called and they offered you a transcript, they might have done a show (or series of shows) on anxiety without producing an actual book.

Without a title or more information, Sun Spots does not know how to help you. But she can provide you with the address and phone number for the Dr. Phil Store. Maybe if you call or write them, they can help: P.O. Box 271499, Flower Mound, TX 75027, 972-780-6015.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I work for the animals at the animal shelter in Lewiston. I am knitting blankets for the cats in the shelter. If you know someone who has yarn that they don’t use, please call me at 777-1593. I don’t have a car. If you could bring the yarn to me, I will pay for your gas. I am 88 years old. I really like my job. I enjoy knitting. It passes the day. — Germaine Nolan, Lewiston
