Teen Open Mic
AUBURN — Teen Open Mic will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday Oct. 21, at the Auburn Public Library Androscoggin Community Room, 49 Spring St. Teen singers, musicians, comics and spoken-word poets are welcome to invite friends and family to perform.

Blood, food drive
AUBURN — The American Red Cross will team up with Good Shepherd Food Bank on national “Make a Difference” day with a combined blood and food drive. The event will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Auburn Mall, 550 Center Ave.
The Red Cross requests that all presenting donors also bring in a can of food to help the needy.
Presenting donors will receive a free American Red Cross water bottle and be entered into a raffle to win a seven-day cruise from Boston to Bermuda. Refreshments will be served.

First dance
LEWISTON — The Twin-City Spinners, Maine’s newest square dance club, will hold its first-ever dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Martel Elementary School, 880 Lisbon St. Those attending are asked to use the East Avenue entrance.
Al Hipkins will be the caller at mainstream level, with Carol Stewart doing the cueing for the round dances. There is no dress code. Cost is $6 a dancer.
The club’s next dance will be Saturday, Dec. 17, a Christmas dance, alternating class and mainstream level tips. Walt Bull and Al Hipkins will be the callers. For more information, contact Hipkins at 841-7959 or alhipkins@sdcaller.us.
Ticket auction
AUBURN — A ticket auction will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, at Edward Little High School to benefit the John F. Murphy Homes Navigator program. The doors will open at noon, with the drawings to begin at 2 p.m.
The group has more than 200 items for auction. They include gift cards, tickets and 100 gallons of oil. Chili, American chop suey, desserts and beverages will be available for purchase before and during the auction. Contact Michelle Roy at 782-2591 for details.
Dog classes
LEWISTON — Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will start another six-week dog obedience class starting Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Lewiston. Dogs and puppies must be at least 3 1/2 months old and vaccinated. Beginners’ class will be at 6:30 p.m. and advanced classes at 7:30.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Oct. 13 were: first, Donna Aube and Bryan Lambert; second, Norm Bissonnette, two-player table; third, Linda Dostie Scott and Leo Muise; fourth, Sandy Oliver and John Violette; fifth, Anita Cusson and Terry Chambers.
