LEWISTON — Cecile D. St. Pierre, 92, of 20 Great Falls Plaza, Auburn, died Monday, Oct. 17, at d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Lewiston, March 7, 1919, the daughter of Adelard and Lydia Miquelon Demers. Educated in Lewiston schools, she married Leo J. St. Pierre on Dec. 5, 1936. Mr. St. Pierre passed away in 1992. She was employed for many years by the Androscoggin Textile Mill as a weaver, and later worked as a CNA at St. Mary’s Hospital.
A member of Sacred Heart Church, she loved to knit and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived 30 years at Great Falls Esplanade and was their oldest resident.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph “Paul” and wife, Rachel, of Mechanic Falls and Henri “Rene” and wife, Louise, of Auburn; two daughters, Diane St. Pierre of Auburn and Claire St. Pierre of California; a sister, Annette Dodge of Cape Elizabeth; six grandchildren, Denis St. Pierre and wife, Therese, Michael St. Pierre, Cynthia and husband, James Randall, Marsha and husband, Sofian Kanan, David St. Pierre and wife, Lisa and Michelle and husband, Matt Arpin; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Donat and Lucien Demers; and two sisters, Alma White and Laura D’Amour.
