FARMINGTON — Police are investigating a burglary and the theft of five catalytic converters from a Morgan Lane residence.
The owner of the residence called police Saturday morning after noticing someone had attempted to take a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in front of his garage on Morgan Lane located off the Barker Road, said Rachel Heseltine, Farmington Police secretary.
The vehicle was propped up with a spare tire but removal of the converter was not completed. The owner then noticed five catalytic converters stored behind the garage were gone.
A week before, on Oct. 8, a window was broken in the garage and a Craftsmen MIG welder, valued at $550, was taken. The owner did not report the incident to police until this weekend when the converters were taken.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Farmington Police at 778-6311.
