AUBURN — Thelma Irene (Norris) Pearson, 82, of Canton, passed peacefully on Oct. 14, at the Hospice House surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Augusta, a daughter of Wayne and Clara (Smith) Norris. She graduated from Buckfield High School in 1947. On Sept. 12, 1947, she married Rodney E. Pearson. He died in March 2004.
Thelma spent many years working at the Maplewood Lodge in Canton, a job she took great pride in as Resident Care Administrator. She also was a avid baker and supplied pies and pastries for Canton Variety.
Thelma was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed baking, crafts and holiday gatherings with her family. She was a generous and kindhearted woman who always put others before herself.
She is survived by daughter, Pam and husband, Ronald Akers, of Casco and their sons, Ronald Jr. and Davian; daughter, Rhonda and husband, Normand Holcomb, of Naples and Rhonda’s two daughters, Tracy Cox and Jana Beardsley; son, Stephen Pearson and wife, Shari, of Auburn and sons, David, Scott and Shaun; son, Thane and wife, Holly, of Kittery; daughter, Lori and husband, George Cayer, of Rumford and their daughters, Larissa and Hillary; her sisters, Leona Estes of Norway and Althea McCutcheon of South Paris; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Rodney; her brother, Raymond; and her sister, Arlene.
