WEST PARIS — West Paris Grange 298 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at West Paris Grange Hall, Church Street.

Bridge group

WATERFORD — The Waterford Library sponsors an informal bridge group that meets at the library the fourth Monday of each month. The next meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24.

No partner is necessary. Players with a basic knowledge of bridge are welcome.

The group will not meet in December. Meetings will resume in January.

Baby-sitting

PARIS — Girl Scouts will offer a “Babysitting 101” training program for all area girls in grades 5-8.

The program will include: Getting your baby-sitting business started, playtime ideas for children of all ages, understanding the likes and dislikes of children, troubleshooting and solutions to the most common problems a baby sitter faces.

The program will be in the South Paris area from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. All girls in grades 5-8 are welcome to participate, but preregistration is necessary. The cost of the program is $6 for currently registered Girl Scouts and $17 for non Girl Scouts, which includes the $12 Girl Scout membership fee. Membership assistance is available for this fee.

Space is limited. Preregistration along with payment is necessary by Oct. 25.

BETHEL — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting for the Bethel/Woodstock community at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Crescent Park Elementary School.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Indoor walking

NAPLES — The Step Into Fitness indoor walking program at Lake Region High School will begin on Oct. 26. Walks will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Watch for “entrance” signage at the high school through the construction project.

Adult ed

PARIS — Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education offers a variety of classes through the month of October. Classes on Thursday, Oct. 27, include the following.

Basket weaving, with Bunny Pratt, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. $35. One more basket weaving class will be offered Nov. 3. Sign up early.

Breathe In, Breathe Out, with Chris and Paula Easton, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. $20.
