LEWISTON — Danielle Elizabeth Mae “Dani” Ranger, 16, a resident of Marble Lane in Dixfield, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center, as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born Nov. 28, 1994, in Farmington, the daughter of John R. Ranger III and Tammy L. (Robbins) Ranger. Dani was a junior at Dirigo High School in Dixfield. She was a member of the field hockey team and a junior firefighter of the Dixfield Fire Department. It had been several years since the fire department had a junior firefighter program; Dani was instrumental in reorganizing the group.

Dani was known as a young lady that had a positive attitude, faced challenges and was an outstanding friend, teammate, role model and firefighter. Above all else, Dani was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, niece and cousin.

She is survived by her parents, John R. Ranger III of Jay and Tammy L. Ranger of Dixfield; maternal grandparents, Joanne Leighton and her husband, Elwood, of Livermore Falls; stepgrandmother, Vickie Robbins of Dryden; paternal grandparents, John Ranger II and his wife, Kendalyn, of Jay and Vicky Geis and her husband, Doug, of East Dixfield; great-grandmother, Evangeline Hayden of Wilton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Dale T. Robbins.
