LEWISTON — Robert E. Robinson, 83, a resident of the Townsend Brook Road, Auburn, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 17, at Central Maine Medical Center with family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 9, 1928, a son of Lawrence and Gloria (Gagnon) Robinson. Mr. Robinson was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1946.

On July 2, 1949, he married Beryl Warren and together they raised their family in Auburn, where he had been a lifetime resident.

Bob worked 40 years for Crooker Construction, Topsham until his retirement in 1990. He spent most of those years as a bulldozer operator and at the time of his retirement, had worked the last several years as a job foreman.

Among his favorite enjoyments were tending to his garden and home canning. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and spending time at his camp at the West Forks. He was a loving, devoted and hard-working husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Beryl Robinson of Auburn; his daughter, Mary Grant of Auburn; his son, Larry Robinson, also of Auburn; his grandhildren, Amelia Grant, Lance and Luke Robinson, all of Auburn, and Jessica Grant Mason of Port Wentworth, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Lily Grant, Lydia and T.J. Mason, who he adored; one sister, Betty Sanford of Bath; a sister-in-law, Esther Robinson of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur and Lawrence; and granddaughter, Rebecca Grant.
