FARMINGTON — More than 20 people have applied for the Franklin County deputy clerk/deputy treasurer position, county Clerk Julie Magoon told commissioners Tuesday.
There are some really strong candidates, she said.
The deadline to submit an application was 4 p.m. Wednesday.
By midday Wednesday, the pool of applicants continued to increase.
The position became available after former Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer Charisse Keach took a job as the treasurer of the town of Buxton.
An interview committee will be getting together the week of Oct. 24 to begin the interview process, Treasurer Mary Frank said.
The committee members are Magoon, Frank, Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton, Emergency Management Director Tim Hardy and Register of Probate Joyce Morton.
