FITCHBURG, Mass. — Joseph W. Jarvis, 75, a resident of Dover Street, Fitchburg, Mass., died Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Health Alliance Medical Center.

Joseph was born in Lewiston, March 3, 1936, a son of Wilfred and Mary Anna (Michaud) Jarvis and was educated in Lewiston schools. Mr. Jarvis was a military veteran having served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was married to the former Sally A. McLaughlin, who predeceased him in February. Joe worked for many years in the public works department for the city of Fitchburg in Massachusetts, until his retirement.

Despite living in Massachusettes most of his adult life, his bond with his family in Maine remained strong and everyone looked forward to his visits.

He was a loving, devoted and hard-working husband and father who will be dearly missed and the memory his kindness and sense of humor will be a source of comfort for his family for years to come.

Joe leaves his son, Marcel Jarvis of Fitchburg, Mass.; nephews, Michael H. Bourget and Daniel W. Bourget and his wife, Stephanie; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sally A. (McLaughlin) Jarvis; his daughter, Anna Marie; and two sisters, Rita Berube and Doris Bourget.
