WILTON — Residents planning to vote by absentee ballot in the November election have two weeks to request a ballot.
The deadline is 5 p.m. Nov. 3, Town Manager Rhonda Irish told selectmen Tuesday.
After that date, voters seeking an absentee ballot will need to provide a specific reason as to why they need the ballot, Town Clerk Diane Dunham said Thursday. Absentee ballots can be returned up to the time the polls close at 8 p.m. on Nov. 8, she said.
Traditionally, voting hours have been 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. but due to changes in state law, the town polls will open an hour earlier at 8 a.m. at the Town Office.
