RANGELEY — The Rangeley Star Gazers Group will hold a Star Party from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Wilhelm Reich Science Center and Museum. The evening will allow for a chance to meet and celebrate science.

An introductory program to promote astronomy activities in the Rangeley region will take place. Retired teacher and amateur astronomer, Gerry Adams, will conduct a short lesson that introduces methods that may be helpful during the fall and winter for observing the night skies over Rangeley.

Resources will be handed out to aid in explanation of the material presented. If Mother Nature cooperates, there may also be a live telescope session following the presentation.

The evening may also afford a chance to observe the October meteorite shower.

If interested in attending or for more information, contact the Reich Museum or Gerry Adams. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate will be provided; however donations of snacks such as cookies, brownies or cupcakes would be appreciated. Members will meet at the Reich Conference Center between 5:45 and 6 p.m.
