Fall festival

DIXFIELD — The Dirigo Middle School 8th grade class is holding a fall festival to raise money for their class trip. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Dirigo Middle School.

Crafters are invited to sell their wares. Space for crafters is $10 per table plus a donated item. Space can be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve a space, contact Mickey at 837-4498 or Rhonda at 562-8694.

The festival will include crafts, food, raffles, children games, chili cook-off, apple sling shot and more.

Fontaine benefit

RUMFORD — The VFW Post 1641 will hold a benefit for Gerald Fontaine from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23. Fontaine is currently at CMMC after suffering seizures and a heart attack.

Dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m. and will consist of spaghetti with homemade meatballs, cole slaw, rolls and other snacks.

There will be a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction with many different baskets of goodies including a picnic/table bench and handmade quilt donated by Butch and Teresa Broomhall.

There will be live music performed by many local artists.

Anyone wishing to send private donations may do so by mailing to the post at 330 Waldo St. ATTN. Men’s Auxiliary, Rumford, or dropping off at the VFW Post on Cumberland Street. For more information or to help with the event, call the Post at anytime at 369-0302.

Class of 1950

MEXICO — The Stephens High School Class of 1950 is invited to meet at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at The Covered Wagon.

Class of 1949

MEXICO — Mexico High School Class of 1949 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Dick’s Restaurant. Classmates and guests are welcome.
