LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Dorothy Doyle was celebrated by Monsignor Marc Caron Thursday at trhe Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul of the Prince of Peace Parish. At the entrance of church, Dorothy’s burial pall which represent’s Dorothy’s spiritual Baptism into a new life with God was draped by grandson, Richard Doyle, and Dorothy’s dear friend, Robin Scott. The first reading was by close family friend Lori Smail Bolster. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by longtime family friend of both Dot and Tom, was Gilda Dennis and her daughter, Connie Bevivino. Following a procession to Mt. Hope Cemetery, Monsignor Caron recited graveside committal prayers after which Lori Smail Bolster also recited one last final prayer. Then Dot’s family and friends each received a rose to either keep in memory of Dot or to leave on her casket as a final tribute. Family pallbearers were Chuck Burnie, Tony Staffiere, and Ed Cotton. At the conclusion of services all were invited to Marco’s Restaurant for a reception of fellowship. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
