SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Grace Marjorie Dell Lux died on Oct. 17, in Salt Lake City from causes incident to age.

She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., to Frederick C.J. Dell and Grace M. Dell on Oct. 24, 1913. She married Lloyd H. Lux on Aug. 29, 1936, and blessed with children, Carol Marjorie and Robert Lloyd.

She attended Julliard School of Music, receiving a B.A. and M.A. in Music from NYU and Columbia, respectively. She taught piano for 45 years, performed as a vocal accompanist, and directed the choir of United Baptist Church, Lewiston.

She was a past president of the Kiwaniannes and Art and Literature Club, and a member of United Baptist Church, Woman’s Literary Union, and YWCA. Marge and Lloyd spent 54 wonderful years together enjoying summer camps as counselors; travel, visiting family and friends and venturing to all 52 states and Europe; and participating in the life of Bates College, where Lloyd was Professor of Physical Education and Director of Athletics from 1949 to 1974.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Zacher (Mark) of Vancouver, B.C.; son, Robert (Linda) of Park City, Utah; four grandchildren; and four great-grand children.

Marge was predeceased by her parents; husband; and brothers, Robert and Frederick.

Marge’s family extends deepest gratitude to the loving and compassionate caregivers, nursing staffs and aides at Parklane, St. Joseph Villa, Sunrise Senior Center, and Emeritus Senior Living during her 11 years in Utah.
