AUBURN — Oscar A. Levesque, 90, a resident of Martin Drive in Lewiston, passed away early Thursday, Oct. 20, at The Hospice House with family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 7, 1921, son of Alphonse and Helena (Audet) Levesque. Mr. Levesque was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community. He was first married to the former Florence Metayer, who predeceased him in 1984. He later married Anita Garneau Hamann, currently of Lewiston.

Oscar worked 50 years at Phillips Elmet in Lewiston and was a foreman until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Cross Church and among his favorite enjoyments were listening to classical music and traveling about.

But his greatest enjoyment was still spending the quality times with his family, children and grandchildren. Oscar was a loving, devoted and hard-working husband, father and grandfather who will dearly be missed.

He leaves his wife, Anita Hamann Levesque of Lewiston; three daughters, Christine Gagne and husband, Dan, of Poland, Marguerite Letourneau and husband, Ray, of Bowdoin and

Claudette Hanscome of Olympia, Wash.; a son, Bert Levesque of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three stepsons, Roger Hamann and wife, Joan, of Greene, Gerry Hamann and wife, Pam, of New Gloucester and Dan Hamann of Sabattus; a stepdaughter, Monique (Nicky) Hamann of Portland; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Mr. Levesque was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Levesque; a daughter, Pauline Bresnaham; a daughter-in-law, Louise Levesque; a sister, Gilberte Levesque; and his parents.
